this may be a strange question , i am currently doing soft engg, i want a final year project to be a robot with an arm which can be used for military purposes (e.g bomb disposal), the robot shall be wireless control and also have a feature of autonomous operation, i just want to ask that which software platform is preferable in current context, i am currently thinking about Microsoft robotics studio(MRDS), what u say?
What about Robot Operating System (ROS) from Willow Garage, I currently know C# and have a good understanding of .Net Platform,
In either case (MRDS or ROS) we have to learn from the scratch,
so what should i choose, and is their any other platform feasible for our project.??
one thing more what hardware platform (micro-controller) will be best suited??
