I'm using one of the superdroid TTL converter cables to try and interface with a Sabertooth 2x25 and not having any luck.
The cable is serial, not USB, and the TTL end of the cable has 4 wires: red, black, yellow and green.
A label affixed to the cable says: 5 volt R+ Y-, Blk ttl out, Grn ttl in.
So, I'm running the black wire to S1 on the sabertooth, and the yellow wire to 0V on the sabertooth. I have the DIP settings on the sabertooth set for simplified serial, 19200 baud. Which is all switches on except for #2 and #5 according to the docs.
Then I'm using hyperterminal to try and send a simple command to motor one.
Nothing is happening. I'm not sure if I have the wires wrong or what. There seems to be plenty of explanations for using the USB to TTL cables out there on the internet, but nothing about plain 'ol RS232.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
