Servos with MI (Magnetic Induction) can they be modified ??

Hello fellow roboteers,

I saw some new servos on the market with my supplier (HobbyKing) and they now have servos with magnetic induction instead of potentiometers.
Can they still be modified like in the $50 dollar robot project, for full rotation ?

Does anyone tried it already ?
