If societyofrobots doesn't post much or at all you can ask twitter to give you that account name. Not sure the best way to contact them but I've heard of others claiming names and trademarks back before.

I found a practical purpose for twitter!

If weather cooperates, I'll be launching a weather balloon to 100k feet Saturday starting 10am to ~2pm EST. It will send SMS tweets to twitter every 10min with it's GPS coordinates and other sensor data (when it's in range of a cell tower).
