$50 Robot 220uF Capacitor

It seems that most places I have checked are sold out or back ordered on these capacitors. I found some at Solarbotics that might work. Would these work?

The specifications are pretty similar, I think it should work.  As for the shipping cost I live in Missouri, USA and select first class mail.  Its usually just a few dollars. 

Looking up parts is a very handy skill.  I first looked at the cap from the tutorial, which is aluminum.  I then typed in capacitor into the digikey search box.  I clicked on aluminum under the 'capacitors' and I found one that was 16 volts and 20% tolerance at 220 uF, just like the one from the tutorial. 

You can do the same thing just as easily!

Thanks for the info. I was going for specifically what was mentioned in the tutorial. Of course I could search for something else which is how I came upon the Capacitor I originally posted the link to, albeit from a different shop other than Digikey. I have ordered 95% of the parts I get from Digikey. It just never crossed my mind to find an alternate there.

You can use any cap with a voltage rating of 16V or above, assuming you don't have more than around 10V going into the regulator (you should always have some headroom). If you fed it from up to 15V, a 25V (or higher) part would be needed.

You can use anything from the 220µF and up - I'd use at least 470µF in that position.

Thanks Soeren. I think I will give the Capacitors I posted a link for a try. The first board I had put together quit working for some reason. I was able to get one Servo modified with it so I know it worked at one time. I'm going to build a second board and hopefully finally get this robot finished before Fall.
