Online Circuit Simulator
« on: September 28, 2011, 03:01:41 PM »
I've recently found an Online Circuit Simulator that seemed to be pretty useful for a beginner like myself. It's nice to have something accessible from anywhere where internet connection is available to quickly test new ideas.

This Java based applet also contains few examples on DC/AC circuits - its a shame there are no explanations.

New (empty) board can be created by clicking: Circuits --> Blank Circuit.

Component menu appears when Right Mouse Button is clicked anywhere on the board.

Created circuits can be exported as plain text or as a link that is build on the fly after opening it.

Sadly there is no option to embed created circuits elsewhere - maybe later.

Here it is: http://www.falstad.com/circuit/

Hi,

I use this a lot. It's great for understanding current flow, negative feedback and things like transmission lines.

There is an iOS app made (?) by the same people (it at least looks and works in a very similar way) called iCircuit. I haven't bought it but it looks quite good — you can use the devices mic and speakers as components in realtime!

Thanks,
Barnaby
