is there n e possible way (thats easy) to use a pistol-grip controller with caterpillar tracks

easy? no.

only thing I can coem up with, is when you tell teh ptrigger to go forward, you apply 3/4 full speed to both tracks, and when you steer it adds more power to teh way you're turning.
same with reverse
