Tring to hook up a tx/rx to a 12 volt linear actuator . Actuator has 3 wires ( a b c) . Ground any one wire and it goes to a preset position. A + b = left. C + b = right. Reciver has 3 pins , +,-,S.

Any idea how to hook them up?
You need a decoder between the receiver and the actuator. This decoder must match the encoder you (need to) use at the transmitting end.
You can either build those with small microcontrollers, or get something like the Holtek encoder/decoder chips.

Further, you need to measure the current in the control wires of the actuator, to see how much driver the decoder needs.

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
