Programming in c using picclite getting started

I'm totally new to this, I have a few robot books, I finally decided to go with c language with picc lite probably, I was wondering if anyone had any books in mind for a beginner for programming in c with mostly motor control code. theres lots of books, but I needed one mainly for programming motors. Help or advice would be appreciated, thanks
