Cool, so do the front fins make it go forward and the rear ones make it go backward?

A single fin can output thrust in any direction - a true 6 DoF actuator. However maximum thrust isn't uniform in each direction, so we arrange the fins in a way that either gives better controlability, or better forward speed, depending on the mission.
