Shorting issue with wiper motor

We have realized that when going reverse polarity the wiper motor is somehow now shorting through the rod that is connected to the shaft of wiper motor.

We have resolved the problem it looks like by adding rubber grommets around our bolts on the shaft of the wiper motor
