Power failure in commercial articulated robot arms?
« on: April 25, 2012, 03:02:14 PM »
How are commercial robot arms like KUKA constructed?

What happens in cases of power failure in commercial articulated robotic arms and the end effector is maybe holding a load?

I assume there are power fail safe breaks that engage each rotational axis once power is not delivered for whatever reason and that the robot can hold the rated load no matter what position?
