Motor load

(1/1)

Darek:
Hi Everyone:

I need to determine the load on an electric motor.  Any standard way to do this?  I want the piston to push on something and then release, over and over.  Can I purchase a tool that I can attach to the something and have it show me what force was needed to obtain the push?  Sort of like a scale to measure weight, but something that is very sensitive, as the force required isn't too great.

Can you position the 'object' that needs 'pushing' to be in a vertical pulling down position?
If so then hang small weights until it moves as much as you need. Then calculate the force from the weights and gravity (reference a first semester Physics text).

Darek:
Yes, I can do that.  Holy shit, good suggestion.  Thanks.
