indoor tracking of fast moving object
« on: February 02, 2017, 08:20:48 AM »
Hello!

I am doing a project which will have an RC car drive autonomously using MPC. For this I need an indoor 2d tracking system. The RC car will be fitted with an IMU and I am looking to use a beacon system and combine these two using an extended kalman filter. However the beacon system has an update rate of 40 hz with a latency of 20-25 ms. How will this impact the correction part in the kalman filter, seeing as the correction data will be 20-25 ms old when it arrives?

Perhaps this was the wrong sub-forum, admin can feel free to move the thread where they see fit
