Modifying Servos to 180 degrees

How can you modify a servo to 180 degrees? ( not continuous rotation )

theoretically you'd just have to remove the pot, and replace it with a pot with the same value but one that can turn 180. (the original one should, hopefully, be 90)
And then you'll have to modifie the mechanical blocking to make sure it can turn 175 freely... 180 isn't possible since the blocking thingy is about 1mm.

But if this all is do-able...i dunno

95% of servos can be bought as 180 already . . . which servo are you trying to modify?

how would i go about doing that?

no idea... i think it'll be different for each type of servo.
Or not possible at all.

It'll save you much trouble to just buy a 180 servo.
