How do they navigate? I thought they rode on rails because of the super neat patterns on the ground, but the ground looks smooth. Some sort of magnetic line that they are following? or just supper accurate encoders?

i saw this on discovery

they are the latest in warhouse tech they run on wheels but follow a precise route so they eventually make tread inprints on the ground that look like tracks but are just makings.

they can carry large wieghts on there tops to transport crates from one part of the warehouse to the other they are also self charging and are really cool
robot will rule the world and i will be building them

They do look really cool. Some of them seemed a little slow off the draw though :P Very nice :)

they seem to stop only on top of the circular type patterns, and turn in 90 degree increments. Ideal for storing stuff equally and evenly.
I presume that they drive under the crates like at the end of the vid, then the part on top of the bots lifts up like a hydraulic ram to lift the crates
