A sign we should all have
« on: February 22, 2008, 01:08:51 PM »

...in our garden. A cheap idea that I whipped up in flash a few seconds ago. What do you think? Would you have a sign like this on your fence? :P

Paint?

You could paint it using a pattern.

Anyway, that sign is awesome. I might as well make one of these!

make a flatbed printer?
print out a stencil? just make it spread over a few pages and then glue/tape them together

I was messing around with sign printing services online, 20 coroplast signs would be 9 dollars each and 20 aluminum signs would be 14 dollars each.

Group order maybe??

Ok funny story time. If you are careful and use spray paint or a paint gun with a good stencil on thin metal. You get a good look if done right. My friend and I did this on a project we did a while back. We wanted to keep the amazing paint job he did using tape a spraying several layers onto the sheet. Then we laminated it. We took it to Doug at Kinkos. Doug only works the late shifts at our kinkos and he would laminate anything for us :) We went back a few days later with another sheet and asked the day crew to laminate it but they wouldn't even try. So we waited till everyone left and talked to doug again :)

Anyway spray paint and laminate work great for home made signs or fancy scaled down elevator designs for engineering competitions.
