Brushed vs Brushless Motor Controll

Hi All, 

Another noob question.... 

What's the difference between Brushed and Brushless motor control?  I know the difference between the motor types, but is there any difference for control of the motors?

for brushless motors you need special controllers. for dc you just give it ground and power

Right.  So would there be any difference for bi-directional control - or can they both use the same H-Bridge?

They would have a very different setup. You would need 3 H bridges to control a brushless since each phase needs to be triggered separately.
(In theory you could have one H bridge and get fancy with relays and signal routing).
Also it is critical to measure the location of the rotor using the hall effects to know how to rotate the rotor.
