50$ robot. AVR studio shuts down.

when i press the rebuild all button in the AVR studio it looks like its working for about 3 seconds and then a window opens up that says "AVRStudio MFC Application has stopped working" and the only thing i can do is press close program.  i tried it again in another folder and it did most of the rebuilding part and then said "make: *** No rule to make target `Photovore_v1.elf', needed by `elf'.  Stop.
Build failed with 1 errors and 0 warnings..."
please help me.

Oh, this question has been asked a billion times already.

Every time it was solved by me telling the person to go back and read the instructions more carefullly
You missed a step, or you named a file wrong, etc.
