Simple Programmable Logic Device - SPLD

Would an SPLD (versus a CPLD or FPGA) be ideal for controlling a simple photovore robot if one wanted to use a PLD and not an MCU?

Here is the one i've narrowed it down to:

I looked at the datasheet . . . couldn't find any ADC . . . a problem if you're making a photovore :P

Well, Could one possible program their own ADC circuit using logic gates? Or would one need a separate ADC chip?

You have to use PWM and a capacitor . . . look at how the basic stamps do it (because they don't have ADC too)
