Microsoft Robotics Studio 2008
« on: January 12, 2009, 11:05:52 AM »
Hello,

I am a beginner in robotics and have the parts for my first robot on the way in the post. I have a few questions about M$ robotics studio, and yes I have read all the tutorials about boot loading, microprocessing, UART (I think that is the right combo of letters).

1. Is MS RS 2008 able to put the programs on the micro processor via USB / blue tooth if I have boot loading enabled or do I need another program?

2. How do I write a service for RS 2008 in c# using visual studio and then how do I import that code into a service form RS 2008. (e.g I want to make a blue-tooth program that I can put in the numbers for the baud rate, com port etc similar to the one for the iRobot, but i can't program it using the Visual Diagram thingy.

By the way I don't plan to use any of this for my first robot, but I need to know how it all works for later on.

OK after some digging I have found out that you can indeed program services in c# and VB using visual studio or one of the express editions, but you can't put the programs on the microcontroller. I would recommend using this program if you just want to control things from your computer.
