labview to serial prob

hi  all
ok my problem is, im trying to send data from labview to a transmiter by the serial port and it not working.
but i dont have serial port on my laptop but i am using a usb to serial adapter.
so i assigned the number of my virtual serial port in labview and it does nothing.
So my question is can i send data by the serial adapter or do i need to change something in labview???

You can send data with a serial adapter, no problem.
