What are the main resources for robotics for beginners??

for my $50 robot, the stores i bought my stuff at were:  www.digikey.com,
radioshack (also buy helping hands from here - or digikey),
www.robotshop.ca

i also took a trip to my local suplus store for a cheap soldering iron (get a stand for it also).

well, no beginner can start in this field without the following:
multimeter,
soldering iron,
decent workspace
and a mind willing to learn...
if you have these things you are good to go.
