Transistors and quantum computing.
« on: July 02, 2009, 09:22:04 AM »
I know this is a bit off topic but i found out today that graphic cards have about 1.6 billion transistors in them! Im not an electronic genius but i think this is really cool.
Anyways i just wanted to know what you guys thought about quantum computing and the boundaries it could break. Basically what it does is uses quantum mechanical information that lets it run parallel tasks, making it much faster then any conventional computer. There are companies out there developing the chips, which has been predicted will soon be able to be utilized in your own quantum computer. For more information you should google it.

I Think its AMAZING :P

Need help with an algorithm or a maths related problem? Ill be glad to help :)
