Need Help About Sharp GP2D15 IR

I got the digital GP2D15 IR, but I dont know how to program it, i wanna use it for Walk sensor to my mobile robot, i use 1 servo on top to control 1 GP2D15, Look like $50 robots. Please Help me how to program it using codevisonAVR?

The GP2D15 Sharp IR is close or the same as the one used in the tutorial.  http://www.societyofrobots.com/robot_50_robot_sharpIR.shtml

In fact, you can just use that source code and adjust for your needs or if you have different values.

so, no problem if i use GP2D15 or GP2D12? i just dont know how to read data from this sensor if i using CodevisionAVR and my Micr is AtMega8535. can you help me with simple code?
