Need help understanding Jacobian relationships

I was looking at the standford lectures for introduction to robotics and they said it was important to know in robotics and I believe it could give me an edge in my robotics courses as they focus on electronics so I can master both the electronics and mechanical side of robotics . The math they showed was confusing however I believe if I had some textbook examples I could learn it and benefit from it because when I was in my high school AP calculus class the formulas where very confusing till the variables were put down in number form.

jacobians can be used to solve integrals in three dimensional calculus
