Controling a robatic arm using a joystick
« on: September 29, 2009, 02:58:29 PM »
I was looking into doing a final year manufacturing engineering project on controlling a robotic arm using a joystick.  My plan was to use the programming software "labview " to achieve this.

Has anyone got any idea on whether this would be a feasible project or not?

Has anybody got any hints, tips or suggestions as to how to go about doing this?

Thanks for all your help.

Hi
Do you already have the hardware (ie robotic arm and/or joystick)?
How many degrees of freedom(DOF) do you need to control on the arm?

Have an industrial robot, its got 5 DOF, but I don't have the joystick yet, I was thinking of a potentiometer joystick and just using the voltage difference to control the movement.
