There is no law for releasing the information that I did. Nor do I keep any more information for any user in the database than that which I've already shown. All users can opt out any information being stored in your preferences.

Plus, their names and email addresses were already publicly released by themselves and other complaining SoR members.

It is common IT practice to log the IP/host information entirely for security and spam bot countering. My privacy statement also states that this basic info is being logged. If I didnt do this, SoR would actually have a serious spam problem as Ive blocked quite a few spambot IPs/emails. Releasing this information was done entirely to fight and discourage these recent abuses.

For those that use SoR to build robots, I promise to keep 100% of your info 100% secure and private. As a matter of fact, some of it is encrypted (like your password) so I cant even see it myself if I wanted to.

so according to the Asia Pacific Network Information Center,
billyjason was using an IP address in a netblock assigned to pldt.com.ph which appears to be a telco based in the Philpines.
Makati City to be exact.
again, without access to Admin's records i can't tell if the request is just being forwarded through that network by someone smart.
and if that is not the case, without access to PLDTs records, we can't tell what the guy's physical house address is.
i'd give billyjason the benefit of the doubt though.
i think he is just a kid in the Philipines who thinks he can sell his sob story to a western robot builder. (doesn't he know we spend all our money on robot parts?)

it is also worth noting that just because a hit appears to come from a particular IP address, without further investigation, there is no guarantee it does.
i'm sure Admin sees my connection come from a whole bunch of interesting IPs when i'm not connecting through my regular DSL line.

i hardly know what a proxy is, i think it has something to do with changing your IP to someone elses so that you cant be traced/get around internet blocks

Yea if your IP gets banned from a website you can get around it by going through a proxy.
