$50 Robot

I'm going to make this robot as my first robot:

Yep I did and many others have too.
If you need any help at all, feel free to ask any questions.
There are a few tips, but as you make the robot you'll learn a lot from failures or successes.
My tip: Don't burn yourself with a solder like I did 

Oh and you might want to look at the code and try to make sense of it to learn some important stuff.

Can this robot be remote controlled, so I can program it and use the controls on a controller?  


Or could it be controlled via wi-fi/bluetooth?  


If it can be powered by bluetooth what software do I need to use, also how would I program it via bluetooth?

It can be easily be remote controlled.
If you do want to make it one you can eliminate all the electronics like capacitors or the PC boards unless you want to use them in the future.

The only things you need for an RC $50 dollar robot is the material for the base, two servos, your batteries, the wheels, and a receiver and transmitter with the same frequency crystal.
You won't even need to program it.

Sorry, I don't know much about bluetooth except for  the fact that it's using wireless to control something or something like that.

If you want to make it simple, you can do RC but it might not be too much of a challenge for you.

Radio Controlled is the way you want to go with that if you really want to.
Like choco said, it won't be much of a challenge and you really won't learn much from it.

If I do make it remote controlled couldn't i just program the bot to be more advanced?

Some remote controlled robots don't use a reprogrammable microcontroller, you just hook up servos to the receiver. That is why they are saying you won't learn much.

Yeah, wished I knew that before I touched the solder.  :

But anyway, if you want to learn more, do the autonomous way. Then you'll have more pride in your little robot running around your house. By doing it the autonomous way you'll learn more about how a robot can partially ' see ' it's surroundings.
