robostix avrisp cable
« on: February 12, 2008, 08:15:46 PM »
I want to make the robostix avrisp cable as shown in this website:

http://docswiki.gumstix.com/Robostix_AVRISP_cable

The 10-pin ISP is on the Robostix, but the AVR programmer is 6-pin.

in figure 4-1 http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_documents/doc2521.pdf
shows the connections between 6-pin and 10-pin ISP. Is this the correct schematic to use to match up the wiring appropriately to make the cable?

Thanks!!!!

I just had the cable made at work for the AVRISP programmer 6-pin to 10-pin ISP on the Robostix. I must say what a pain in the behind to make this cable. First they don't tell you what parts you need. So you have to infer from the picture what parts to buy. Luckily, we had all the parts at work and an expensive crimper helps too!!!!!

Now that I finally have everything hooked up, I get the flashing orange light on the Atmel AVR Programmer. I remember there was a post about this problem but now I cannot find that post. The post had a link to a downloadable driver. Can someone link me to it?

Thanks,

This is how I fixed the blinking orange led:

The Manual firmware upgrade instructions on page 28:

I now get a green light! Yay!
