URGENT ROBOTIC PROBLEM

hi everyone...i am new here...but i got a few question to ask u all guys.....really need some brilliant idea from you guys......

first i need to build up a 0.5mx0.5m as the base of the robot.....the whole robot height is 1m height....the purpose of building this robot is to carry an object of 20cmx20cmx20cm up to 0.7m hieght of the robot,and then carry the object to an specified area.....

the problem i facing now is the arm of the robot.....how am i buiding an robotic arm to lift up the object......??? ??? ???(need some low cost building part)......

where shall i put the robotic arm so that i can easily lift up the object.....?the arm should not over the base wide.......

i really need some idea to build up the robot......

HOPE I CAN GET THE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...............
