Fantastic Contraption Contest*Finished*
« on: February 04, 2009, 03:44:41 AM »
Hey everyone
I just found a fun game that I believe will appeal to most of our interests and so, I have decided to have a little contest :)

I have 2 prizes to hand out for this one, First winner gets his or her choice of: A pair of 12v Servo motors, or a pair of 24v Servo motors, both are Escap brand. Second place gets the pair of motors first place doesn't choose.

Anyways, the rules are simple. Beat level 14:Four Balls, and level 16:Awash, PM me a screenshot of the victory screen for each. First person to beat both and send me a screenshot of it wins :D Second person to do it wins second place :D

Feel free to chat on this thread about the game or ask me questions, but I will not accept any screenshots on this thread, and any fighting will result in disqualification. Good luck everyone :D

Heres the game     http://fantasticcontraption.com/

Are you aware that this game has been around for some time already?

And there are users' solutions on youtube. Some of them are really fantastic too.

Not trying to ruin your contest though.

adding pics soon! The first one is in grayscale, as i fumbled it somehow, but continued to make it in time anyway :)

angered my GF with the competition, as she called and i was like "yes. yes. yes. no. no. ok, i'm playing a game here.. :D"

.w

EDIT: ok, now im hooked, trying to find differrent solutions for the goal :)

Ye, i almost missed the small print too ^_^

I picked the 12v ones, sorry for that, you were faster completing the job anyway.

The motors arrived today! \o/

Thanks!

I'll post the results on this forum, after i get something done!

EDIT: it seems (according to this specsheet: http://www.robotstorehk.com/1524_S.pdf) that the motors are 9volt, not 12volt.
I don't want to fry em, so can i run them with 12v without baking em?

the motor is 1524E 009S

Oh sorry about that mate, must have switched your motors for my last 9v ones. Having said that, it will proby be easier to power them now since 9v batterys are far cheaper and more abundant than 12v. :)

My mistake mate, sorry.

My mistake mate, sorry.

no worries man! both Voltages are easy to create with 1.5V batteries.
