TV Remote along with IR Sensors?
« on: August 08, 2010, 08:44:52 PM »
Still learning and playing with the Arduino board while I design and build my robot. One of the things I was playing with tonight was an IR receiver and a TV remote control. I already got the Sharp IR sensor working. Using the software from Ken Shirriff's website, I got it to work. So I was wondering has anyone incorporated a IR recevier/TV remote in addition to the ultrasound and IR sensors? Sounds like a good idea and gives one another way to control the robot. Just wondering if the Sharp IR would interfer with the TV remote?

They do not interfere. I have used my TV remote to command my robot and even program new servo moves with it. Take a look here: http://www.societyofrobots.com/robotforum/index.php?topic=7106.msg57627#msg57627
The code is attached a few posts down, look for IRcode.
Check out the uBotino robot controller!
