Misc / Re: Robot to cross road in mumbai
« Last post by Binocom on May 08, 2020, 08:37:05 AM »
You could examine the technology used to make Tesla and other driving cars automatically handle the road. But i expect you would have to navigate more difficultly, as there is moving traffic coming against you. Couldn't they recognise crosswalks?

What is the math behind over all weight vs. the torque need to steer the Rover?

I am custom designing something and need servos to steer this giant rover.

I have seen 70 KG Torque servos out there.

Any recommendations on Servos
Power control for servos.
Power systems to control 12V DC motors.
What is the math behind over all weight vs. the torque need to steer the Rover?

Thanks

p.s came across this one https://www.pololu.com/product/1390

p.s. Why you have to answer 6 security question each time u want to post a question?

Mechanics and Construction / Re: High friction wheels for a sumo bot
« Last post by alblopgas on April 13, 2020, 02:21:59 AM »
Hello all,
I was recently working on that theme and viewing other options for creating customized sumo wheels.

I used
  • Vytaflex 20 urethane rubber
  • Pololu 6mm mounting aluminium hubs
  • self-made wheels hubs

I realize that some of the important aspects to have the best wheels are:
  • maximize the area of contact
  • Fabricate a new tires for each competition to avoid degradation
  • Clean the rubber with alcohol after each battle

The results are great, increasing the traction because of the high friction of the material. You can see the pic attached  :)
For more pictures of the process and explanations of how it was made can be found here: https://miscircuitos.com/how-to-cast-sumo-wheels-handmade/
best Regards

Electronics / charging two diffrent types batteries with one charger
« Last post by aaa3a on March 09, 2020, 06:10:28 AM »
hi
i have a robot work with two batteries one for the microcontroller and low consuming power circuits (2x 3.7v 18650 battery in series with total 7.4v )
and one for the motor and power sucker stuff (6v/4ah sealed lead acid battery)

i've wired it as shows in attachmed  photo
i used toggel switch to switch between operation mode and charging mode

my problem is the 7.4 battery charge well but the lead acid still 2.4v
i left them to charge for 12 hours

the lead acid battery charging alone very well to 6.9v

is there a solution for this system and what is the right way to charge the 2 batteries

thanks

As the title said, i'm actually interested of making a prototype that has the exact same design as those drones. But will it work and move like the in-game version?

Misc / major database corruption - I think it's "fixed" now?
« Last post by Admin on January 24, 2020, 05:12:37 PM »
Had to move web hosts, and a lot of fubar happened during the move that corrupted the database.

I believe all errors are fixed and no data was lost. Only my hair was lost.

Post here if you find anything wrong.

Misc / DATA FAILURE PROBLEMS
« Last post by Admin on January 10, 2020, 09:23:41 PM »
Long story short, I was moving the site to a new host, and fubar happened.

I was sleep deprived and deleted the wrong things at the wrong time. Mostly recovered now.

The forum is still having issues, so I may end up wiping everything again.

If you notice your posts disappearing, just re-post it.
