battery
« on: October 15, 2011, 07:55:03 AM »
My problem is that when I start the motor, the battery is shorted for a moment, this is because the maximum current pick is over
How can I solve this problem?

What battery? Link to data sheet.
What is the battery voltage?
Is there a voltage regulator between the battery and the PIC?
Are there caps connected close to the PIC?

How are these wired?

It is common to get a voltage drop on the wires and the battery when a heavy load is applied. It helps to run separate wires from the battery to the motor driver (of heavy gauge) and to the PIC. This way any voltage drop on the wire due to the high current draw from the motor (V = I*R) is not 'seen' on the wires to the PIC.

...And what's between the PIC pin and the motor?
You didn't connect the motor directly to the pin?

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...

Add some capacitors in parallel. As written in some tutorial on the society's website. (Make sure you check the polarity, or they will explode , haha : mine did a few days ago :D )
??? -> :D
