What kind of connecter should I get when I order it from that site you said it says I have to chose a connecter? Will one of these of ebay be the same deal?: 2 6V 2000mAh NiMH Receiver Battery Tab for Hitec Futaba

add it to teh cart, checkout and choose what you want. since I don't know what half those connectors are I'd get the "leads only" bare wires
but then again $16 plus shipping is alot for a battery, look in the other thread for my post

For the $50 robot Id recommend getting a Hitec battery side connector. This is what I used.

Ed said that the batteries where expensive? I could not find any cheaper.I must be looking in wrong places. Any hints or tips?

That battery seems just maybe $3-4 too expensive . . . it may be easier just to cough it up than to spend 2-3 hours looking for something slightly cheaper . . .

I recommend getting a nice battery as an investment you will use on many future robots.

Ok so I found 2 new ones on ebay for the same price with shipping. Do you think they will be low quality or does that not matter? THey look exactly like the ones you used in the tutorial and are 6 volts. This is what it is called: 2 6V 2000mAh NiMH Receiver Battery Tab for Hitec Futaba. Is this a good deal? THanks.

Whoa a really good deal!!! If I didnt already own waaay too many batteries I would buy some myself . . .

I bought some AA Tenergy batteries for the digicam at work and they have worked really well (didnt break yet)

Ok. What exactly does tab mean? It does not look like there are any wire attached to the battery in the ebay pic. IS that how it is supposed to be. i would give you the link but the computer i am on wont g ive me the link bar thing. Thanks again.

Judging by the picture it means it has no wires and you must figure that part out . . . perhaps not that great a deal . . .

As I can see in the picture, the battery pack has on each side a small black terminal which right now is covered with something for protection against short circuit. Just remove the black thing (probably shrinkwrap) and you can easily solder wires on these terminals. These terminals are allready electrically welded to the battery pack for ease of connection.

I had a Nick battery pack for a drill that ceased working after a fall. I opened it up and found that one of those terminals broke off the battery. I have tried to solder it back using a big solder iron and succeeded but it came loose again when I was using it. Probably this is another reason they are electrically spot welding those, so they don't melt when the battery pack is heating under load.

Id recommend looking around a little more.

I did a search for '6V NiMH' on ebay and found this

Its 3 batteries at 2500mAh and comes with actual wires and hitec connectors.

3 batteries for 21 dollars, that means 7 bucs a piece! Rechargeable!
Now that is a DEAL!

Who can buy them for me and ship them to Romania? I am not allowed to bid on ebay from Romania...
