Ballscrew + ballnut

Hi,

I just bought a ballnut from china and when I insert the shaft, it is not rotating as smooth as the original one which came with the shaft (which I also bought from china). I'm I doing something wrong?

Another separate question; The ballscrew which I am using is 2010 in size. How can I calculate the distance per rotation please?

Near as I recall, pitch is the distance per rotation so a 2010 would be a 20 mm diameter screw moving the ball nut 10 mm per rotation.

Are you doing something wrong if separate cheap components do not fit? I doubt it. Cheap separate components do not always fit.

Thanks for the reply. Instead of buying another ballnut (which may not fit as well), can I use just one ballnut to move the X-axis?

Pretty hard for me to answer that one :). I do not know your application, loads or design. Even if I did, I doubt that I am adequately qualified or experienced with such things to answer confidently. If you can provide some more information about what you are trying to do and how, then perhaps someone else can assist.

One comment without wishing to be too obvious though: is your assembly well-lubricated and entirely free of dirt or swarf? These can badly affect both free run and wear.
