« on: March 13, 2009, 03:12:25 AM »
Hi i am looking to build the $50 robot im 15,

If someone has the exact part or can give me product codes, for there items??

I Know this has been in other topics but could i not just be sent to another link.

I want to start building but dont want to spend $100's on parts and delivery from the US.

I really would appreciate if i could get some help. ??? ???

hey there bud and welcome to the forums ;D great to see another aussie on here! anyway about the parts you can get almost everything at www.futurlec.com.au +$4.00 shipping ;) well everything but the servos, you can find some servos on ebay from those hong kong companies for about $10-$25 each. when on futurlec they do have the atmega8 but make sure you select the 18 pin version, they also have the 32 pin so be careful!
i wish you the best of luck with your project and if you have any questions feel free to ask we dont bite! :D

but there is the fact that futurlec knocked almost half the price off my $50 order compared to dicksmith/jaycar! you can pick up the odd little thing at dicksmith like header pins (if you really wanted too) but ive never had any problems with futurlec the last 2-3yrs ive purchased from them. i would really suggest buying from them! and if you really wanted me to i could knock up a part number list for you :)

If you could knock up a part list that would be great cause i don't know the difference if i see some of the same parts.
Id really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Rmelnikas.

gah! all came to about $15.00
ATMEGA8-16PC     ATMega8 28-Pin 16MHz 8kb 8-bit Microcontroller
C220U10E                   220uF 10V Radial Electrolytic Capacitor
C100UC                     0.1uF 50V Ceramic Capacitors
7805T                       7805T - 5V 1A Positive Regulator (LM7805)
ICS28NMT                 28 Pin Narrow Machine Tooled IC Socket
HEADS10                  10 Pin .100 Straight Male Headers
LED5R                       Red 5mm Round LED
R0015K14W              1.5kohm 1/4W 5% Carbon Film Resistor
R330R14W                330ohm 1/4W 5% Carbon Film Resistor
PHOTOCELL10           photocell 5-1000k
EXPBRD                    small experimenters board

okay so the resistor values are a bit off but the closest futurlec had. same goes with the photocells, i dont really know what resistance they need? but make sure when you enter this into the site you put the right quantity!!

but dont be afraid to purchase more than you need (unless your teh solderin gawd!) nothing frustrates me more than buying components then soldering one on wrong and then waiting like 3-5 days for the new part to arrive.
(if you screw one part up with no spares geting one from dse or jaycar saves you $4.00 shipping!)
anyway, if you have any questions just ask!

Unless you *really* screwed up, you'd only need extra ATmega's and voltage regulators.

You probably would want extras for future projects, however . . .
