what microcontroller?
« on: October 06, 2010, 07:29:10 PM »
i've built a quadrupedal robot with 4 servos and 4 linear actuators, with 2 actuators for turning; i need to know what microcontroller can deliever 12V DC to all servos and motors.  Thank you for you time.

Hi,

i need to know what microcontroller can deliever 12V DC to all servos and motors.
None.
You need interface circuitry, like transistors (either in singles or arrays), to get the low voltage of the µcontroller to control 12V equipment.
Most R/C-servos needs between 4.8V and 6.0V and will not like 12V.

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
Engineering is based on numbers - not adjectives

can this circuitry be purchased.  i only need 7.2V for my servos, but my actuators need 12V.  perhaps you can give me an idea of what i need as far as microcontroller and other circuitry.
