introducing myself
« on: May 09, 2011, 04:07:21 PM »
 ;) Hi there!
I'm a NEW MEMBER and would just like to introduce myself.
I'm looking for ideas that I can use to teach robotics to 7-9 year old kids in a fun packed Summer school.
Looking forward to sharing ideas with you.

I am a den leader for my son's Cub Scout pack.  I am teaching 3rd graders about basic electronics in preparation for the Boy Scouts robotics merit badge.  Tonight in fact, we built a few very basic circuits with some simple components and a breadboard.  We used a battery some resistors, caps, switches, pots and an LDR to make some really basic circuits.  The kids had a lot of fun with it.  I plan on covering motors next (maybe we'll make a tin-can motor or something).

For the greatest tragedy of them all
Is never to feel the burning light."
