$50 Robot
« on: July 26, 2009, 02:56:09 PM »
So my previous post of pan/tilt suggestions has turned to be a little advanced for me, so i've decided to start with the $50 robot. I have ordered all the digikey components and in the process of ordering the photoresistors from radioshack. They are 2.99 for the photocells but 6.5 for shipping...so im debating whether to look elsewhere. will these do the trick?

I have a source 2 mins from my house that have them in at that price, whill they do the same as whats in the $50 robot parts list?

yes, as long as you use the two same photocells then any from any place will work

any will do as long as they have the same resistance values.

You do not need them both to have the same resistance values as long as you calculate the proper resistor value.

there are many ways to do a photocell type circuit, you could use a photodiode (ir) or even a IR emitter.  But yes, those would work.
use the google.  it's your friend.
