$50 Robot Power Question

Right now I am financially unable to purchase a proper battery pack for the $50 Robot that I have been working on. I do however have a 11.1V RC Battery pack from a small helicopter that I sold a year ago. If I plug that into the 9V side of my robot, will that be too much power for the voltage regulator to handle. One other thing, I also have a 5V - 6V switchable BEC. Could this be hooked to the 11.1V pack and used?

The regulator (I'm assuming you're using a 7805) should be able to handle that no problem. There is one problem though, you need to have a voltage drop for the servos, if not they'll fry at that voltage. You mentioned that you have a switchable BEC, that'll work nicely to get power to the servos.
