looking for a IC
« on: August 02, 2009, 01:44:13 AM »
hello
I'm looking for a analogue multiplexer/demultiplexer ic which runs on single selection pin.

for example lets say 4 to 1 multiplexer. when i give

first pulse to its selection pin it connects input1 with output
at second pulse to its selection pin it connects input2 with output
at third pulse to its selection pin it connects input3 with output
at fourth pulse to its selection pin it connects input4 with output
at fifth pulse to its selection pin it connects input1 with output

I'm not sure if this kind of IC exist and i dont know how to call them. ::)

i haven't heard of anything like this before but then again i haven't really looked...
you could use a small ic like the attiny13 to accomplish something simple like this...
have you considered doing that?

Did you find an IC? Check the 4051, 4052 and 4053 ic's. http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/CD%2FCD4052BC.pdf. They take a BCD input to select which pin is connected to the output. If you need pulses, you can use a bcd counter like 4510: https://homepages.westminster.org.uk/electronics/4510.htm
