Hello!
You ever want to produce a formula directly from a Graph,Without interpolation? (simple graphs, please, no polynomials)
Well, now you can!
First, grab at least 3 points off of your graph. (more points give
more resolution to the graph)
Use the following as a model. (x,y,x,y,x,y)
{2,4,3,9,4,16} Now that you have your points, go online to:
The Encyclopedia of Integer SequencesIntroduce these numbers into the block requesting your points,
hit enter, and Voila! the formula(s) is listed below. (x^2 should be it)
I learned this little trick from a math video from Teach12.com, indirectly.
I have a phrase that helps me deal with unknowns, thustly;
If there is a pattern, there is a sequence; If there is a sequence, then
there is a formula; If there is a formula, then there is a family of
formulas; If there is a family of formulas, then there exists solutions
for all variables in the problem from beginning to end.Just thought I would share a tool, maybe it will help you, if you need it.
