Roomba buying reference?
« on: April 22, 2011, 10:28:21 AM »
I aspire to own a Roomba.  Probably not just any roomba, since some are better than others.

In all likelihood, I will probably buy one when I see them for sale at www.woot.com .

In the meantime, however, it has occurred to me that if a roomba model is being sold, how do I determined if it's a roomba I would be happy with?  What I'm looking for is a nice summary of all the roomba models (semi-recent, at least, up to the current ones) that lets me compare them without using my reading comprehension skills (aka reading 5 paragraphs about each bot, then doing the comparisons myself...).

Roomba comparisons like how Consumer Reports does product comparisons would be perfect.

Anyone know of something like this online?

Thanks,
•Gert

Here's a possible solution to your problem... Don't buy a Roomba, buy a Neato XV-11. Essentially the same guts but with 5Hz, 360 degree scanning LIDAR goodness!

When you read about the Neato you won't be happy with a Roomba, and since there is only one Neato model no comparisons are necessary...

HTH  ;)

I'll look into those ones, too.  Thanks.

Anyone else seen anything?
