Title: ceramic and tantalum capacitors
Post by: totalis on June 22, 2010, 01:29:35 PM
Having ordered the parts for the $50 robot, i find i have ordered .1 uf tantalum caps instead of ceramic,
this is to go between the AVCC and GND,

will it matter?

i know tantalum are polarized, which way round should it be?

Thanks all

Not for the first while at least, but if it behaves strange after having run OK for a while, replace them (with ceramics).

It might have a black line (or barre) near the negative lead. If not, the writing should be near the positive side.
If you have a link to a picture, it will be easier to say.

Positive goes to Vcc (which if it's a microcontroller really should be Vdd).
