solder pot recommendations?
« on: May 12, 2008, 06:41:50 PM »
Im in the market for buying a solder pot to speed up my manufacturing, does anyone have an recommendations?

Something like this appears good enough for me:

I will be doing preferably 5"x5" PCB's (but will to go down to 3"x3") with mostly a bunch of male headers that I don't want to hand solder. I will be using lead-less solder.

My budget is no more than $300.

Also, have any tips, like for safety?

This is a bit off topic seeing as I have never used a solder pot before, but on the safety side please take lots of pictures for the "wounded in battle" thread because that thing looks pretty dangerous.

Here's a link to the only one I found that comes near your requirements though:  http://www.amazon.com/Esico-Solder-110V-650W-Model/dp/B0000WTYO6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1210645039&sr=1-4
