Digital Vs PWM

I was wondering if anyone can clear up the difference between the digital pins and the PWM pins on an IC? Thanks

If you are talking about an AVR, all the pins are digital pins. However, some of those digital pins can be configured to be attached to a timer, and it will output PWM.
