This is a rather awesome project. but i am curious as i am also experimenting with a OWI robotic arm. do you have anymore data on how your arms work? did you introduce position sensors into them? if so do you mind sharing how? iv thought hall effect sensors might be a good choice but havent finished any testing yet.

Yes, the arms have magnetic position sensors, I used micro reedswitches with fixed magnets on the rotating parts, works well.
