New to society of robots.... and robotics

hello, i'm new to robotics, and to this website. I'd be grateful if i can get some assistance. I haven't built a robot before. however, i'm highly interested and willing, if there's anyone there who can help me out, i'd be grateful. what are the basic things i need? and how do i go about it. thanks

I'd recommend reading this thread.  I'm new to the hobby too, so we're in the same boat.  The Forum admin is supposedly working on a tutorial and kit for us noobs that'll be under $50 that will help us learn the ropes.  Good luck!
